DESCRIPTION:This course is designed to examine and cover all aspects o
 f the administration of procedural sedation for ambulatory surgery an
 d office based practices.\nThis course is appropriate for all non-ane
 sthesia health care providers who are involved in the administration o
 f sedatives and analgesia. Course has been developed in accordance wit
 h core principles described in The American Society of Anesthesiology 
 Guidelines for Non-anesthesia Providers.\nCourse ObjectivesAt completi
 on of this course participants should be able to:Identify the roles an
 d responsibilities of each sedation team memberOversee and delegate t
 he sedation Describe the standards and regulations as related to offic
 e based anesthesia and analgesiaDescribe and utilize the necessary mon
 itoring and emergency equipment requiredDemonstrate airway management 
 using multiple devicesDescribe related pharmacology of sedatives, reve
 rsal agents and emergency medicationsDescribe appropriate monitoring a
 nd documentationDevelop acceptable recovery & discharge protocols\nFac
 ulty\n \nDr. Barry Friedberg, a board certified anesthesiologist. Dr.
  Friedberg is considered a pioneer in propofol/ketamine or PK anesth
 esia techniques\nPhysicians CMEThis activity has been reviewed and is 
 acceptable for up to 16.25 Prescribed Credits by the American Academy 
 of Family Physicians, of these credits 7.50 hours conform to the AAFP 
 criteria for evidence based CME clinical content. AAFP Prescribed Cred
 it is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AM
 A PRA Category I Credit toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. 
 Non-members of the AAFP may claim up to 8.75 hours of AMA PRA Category
