 nd gynecology, neuro\n\nThis course is an introduction to the principl
 es of effective clinical teaching for adult learners. Through didactic
  and interactive sessions, participants will learn models of clinical 
 instruction and how to apply these effective techniques to their own t
 eaching. The course will also provide an exploration of critical think
 ing, reflection, assessment, and feedback. All sessions will be intera
 ctive and faculty will model instructional strategies described in the
  course.\n\nCourse facilitators are Harvard Medical School faculty mem
 bers with advanced training in medical education and extensive experie
 nce teaching medical students, residents, and faculty. Participants wi
 ll rotate through a series of 5 dynamic, small group sessions focusing
  on teaching methods such as case-based teaching, lecturing, bedside t
 eaching, providing effective feedback, and ambulatory clinical teachin
 g.\n\nPlenary sessions will offer insights into the principles of adul
 t learning, the fostering of critical thinking skills, the assessment 
 of trainee competencies, and the effective use of technology for the c
 urrent generation of learners (“Millennials”). Spotlight sessions 
 will highlight essential skills and current issues in medical educatio
 n. Course attendees may also visit our state-of-the-art Carl J. Shapir
 o Simulation and Skills Center to learn first-hand how simulation may 
 be effectively incorporated into clinical teaching.\n\nOBJECTIVE\n\nPa
 rticipants will have the opportunity to network and engage with like-m
 inded clinician-educators from across the country and around the world
  to discuss their educational challenges and questions. Facilitators w
 ill encourage attendees to reflect on their own learning needs through
 out the conference. At the Carl J. Shapiro Simulation and Skills Cente
 r, attendees will have the opportunity for hands-on participation in s
 imulated learning experiences.\n\nACCREDITATION\n\nHarvard Medical Sch
 ool is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical 
 Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicia
 ns.\n\nHarvard Medical School designates this educational activity for
  a maximum of 17 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ [Course Only] or 20.5 A
