DESCRIPTION:Target Audience: All registered sonographers, student sono
 graphers, and radiologic technologists who desire entry level training
  with vascular ultrasound.\n \nOverall goal of activity: Designed to 
 enhance the knowledge and skills in the areas of vascular technology b
 y introducing participants to laboratory acceptable scanning protocols
  and extensive hands-on training.\n \nDescription: - This one day, no
 n-physics designed course focuses on the technical aspects of ultrasou
 nd assessment of extremity venous system using various scanning protoc
 ols, scanning tips and common pitfalls encountered with venous ultraso
 und scanning. Emphasis will be placed on developing scanning skills th
 rough hands-on scanning clinics. \n \nUpon completion of this course
 , the participant will be able to:\n\nDescribe various venous scanning
  protocols\nIdentify the anatomy encountered during a venous duplex im
 aging examination\nDemonstrate optimal scanning techniques and profici
 ency in “knobology” through application of Doppler principles\nDes
 cribed the characteristics of the venous Doppler signals obtained duri
 ng venous duplex imaging\nDefine and become familiar with different ve
 nous disease states.\n\nApproved for 6.5 SDMS CMEs\nSDMS credits accep
