SUMMARY:Peripheral Arterial Ultrasound
DESCRIPTION:Register early and save! Please register early and reserve
your place by providing payment to avoid an additional $25 fee requir
ed for registrations given within two (2) weeks of the course.\nVascul
ar ultrasound has progressed over the years to become much more than a
screening tool. From its early beginnings of grainy black and white t
wo dimensional images, to the addition of Doppler and color flow, it h
as become the modality of choice for early detection of peripheral art
erial, cerebrovascular, and venous disease. For the detection of DVT a
nd venous reflux, duplex testing is now the gold standard other modali
ties are compared to. Accurate diagnostic testing of the vascular syst
em requires a comprehensive understanding of anatomy and hemodynamics
as well as the various pathological conditions that can present. Multi
ple variables such as cardiac output, dehydration, and infection can a
ll have an impact on the vascular system.\nThis two-day seminar provid
es a overview of physics and instrumentation, anatomy and hemodynamics
, and diagnostic criteria suitable for anyone from an experienced sono
grapher to the beginner. For the physician wanting a more thorough und
erstanding of the capabilities and potential of the vascular lab, alon
g with interpretative criteria, our extensive library of case studies
will prove invaluable. Our scan lab and state of the art equipment, al
ong with our low student instructor ratios allow you plenty of time to
perfect your protocol, and acquire the scanning experience necessary
to perform diagnostic vascular exams.\n*This course can be taken indiv
idually as a two (2) day course OR part of the Vascular Ultrasound sev
en (7) day course.\nObjectives At the completion of this course, the l
earner will be able to:\n\nCorrectly identify vessel anatomy and orien
tation in a vascular ultrasound examination.\nIdentify the variations
in instrumentation and Doppler principles and the effects in scanning
parameters.\nDescribe the flow characteristics and the manifestations
of disease processes.\nDiscuss QA of the procedure and equipment.\nAna
lyze the results of a vascular exam for pathological conditions and in
certain cases, quantify the diseases.\nIdentify additional resource i
nformation on vascular ultrasound.\n\n\nFor more information visit htt
