DESCRIPTION:\nThis workshop will provide participants with American He
 art Association PALS® certification and better prepare them to handle
  adverse events that may result from procedural sedation administratio
 n.\nClosed claims analysis, reports and review of the literature indic
 ate that the majority of complications and situations where interventi
 on was required, regarding sedation administration, resulted from unan
 ticipated drug reactions or drug interactions and/or respiratory compr
 omise.  Many institutions and state dental boards require ACLS or P
 ALS certification to maintain sedation privileges, however the contemp
 orary ACLS/PALS course does not focus on airway complications or respi
 ratory depression nor does it review the pharmacology or pharmacokinet
 ics of sedative agents. This workshop will engage participants in a se
 dative agent review, standard of care monitoring, airway assessment an
 d management utilizing simulation for multiple devices and pertinent m
 ega-code scenarios which will better prepare them for pediatric proced
