ed to increase the participant’s knowledge and competence to perform
and interpret pediatric ultrasound examinations in an Emergency or Cr
itical Care setting. This course is taught by leading pediatric emerge
ncy and critical care ultrasound experts and includes lectures, intera
ctive case presentations, and extensive hands-on scanning, featuring a
3:1 ratio with live pediatric models and inanimate phantoms.\nObjecti
ves\n\nIncrease the participant’s knowledge to better perform and/or
interpret pediatric emergency and critical care ultrasound examinatio
ns.\nState the basic fundamentals of ultrasound physics and demonstrat
e appropriate optimization of system controls.\nIdentify normal imagin
g characteristics of the pediatric urinary tract and recognize commonl
y seen pathology associated with renal disease and the GI tract in inf
ants and children.\nDemonstrate protocols for evaluation of the trauma
patient (FAST).\nDemonstrate ultrasound protocols for evaluation of p
neumothorax, pneumonia and endotracheal tube placement.\nList the bene
fits of Ultrasound-Guided Procedures such as vascular access and lumba
r puncture.\nPerform a focused cardiac ultrasound examination on a ped
iatric patient.\nList the benefits of soft-tissue and MSK ultrasound i
n the pediatric patient.\nPerform testicular ultrasound and recognize
