 ive-day program is directed toward the performance of women’s ultras
 ound procedures. An integrated approach of lecture, demonstrations, ha
 nds-on scanning experience with models accomplishes the educational ob
 jectives. The basics of instrumentation and physics are reinforced in 
 the laboratory. The class is from 8 AM to 5 PM with a lunch hour. Adva
 nced Health Education Center’s training model for skills classes pro
 vides a systematic approach of presenting an overview of the instrumen
 tation and physics related to ultrasound. There will be both classroom
  presentation and hands-on scanning to provide for recognition of anat
 omy related to the female pelvis and various stages of gestation. Atte
 ntion will also be given to OB/Gyn measurements utilizing both the tra
 nsabdominal and endovaginal scan approach. A variety of ultrasound equ
 ipment is available in the scan lab to allow for development of skills
  and appropriate scan protocols. A complete two-week program can be ac
 complished by preceding this course with the Abdominal Ultrasound cour
 se. Objectives At the completion of this course, the learner will be a
 ble to: • Utilize the principles of instrumentation to set up ultras
 ound equipment for scanning. • Recognize and identify fetal anatomy 
 and the gynecologic orientation of the female pelvis. • Perform a ba
 sic endovaginal ultrasound exam. • Perform a satisfactory fetal ultr
 asound exam. • Identify the fetal and uterine anomalies and their ul
 trasound appearance. • Apply appropriate measurement techniques in t

 ducation Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continu
 ing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for phys

 cational activity for a maximum of 40 hours AMA PRA Category I™. Phy
