 =4529\n\nMEETING DESCRIPTION:\nThis intensive three-day course is dire
 cted toward the OB Ultrasound examination and sonographic evaluation o
 f the gravid and non-gravid pelvis. With the utilization of both trans
 abdominal and endovaginal approaches, the transducer can become an ext
 ension of the clinical examiation in the OB/Gyn healthcare setting. Ad
 vanced Health Education Center's training model for skills classes pro
 vides a systematic approach of presenting an overview of the instrumen
 tation and physics related to ultrasound. Classroom presentation and h
 and-on scanning will be used to develop a foundation of knowledge rela
 ted to normal maternal and feal anatomy. The course will then progress
  on to the performance of fetal measurements and the ultrasound appear
 ance of fetal anomalies are included. Also included will be a review o
 f case studies related to common pathologies. A variety of ultrasound 
 equipment is available in the scan lab to allow for development of ski
 lls and appropriate scan protocols. Objectives\nAt the completion of t
 his course, the learner will be able to:\nâ€¢ Successfully complete th
 e OB/GYN ultrasound examinations following correct patient preparation
  and procedure protocols.\nâ€¢ Identify and display appropriate normal
  anatomy and orientation in the ultrasound field of view.\nâ€¢ Demonst
 rate a working knowledge of the importance of quality assurance in ult
 rasound as described in the AIUM guidelines.\nâ€¢ Understand variation
 s in scanning protocols for demonstration of pathologies in trans-abdo
 minal examinations.\nâ€¢ Be able to develop mapping techniques to appr
 oach a variety of scanning situations.\nâ€¢ Be able to identify source
 s and research reference materials for additional information on OB/GY
