SUMMARY:OB/GYN Ultrasound (3 Days)
DESCRIPTION:This intensive three-day course is directed toward the OB 
 Ultrasound examination and sonographic evaluation of the gravid and no
 n-gravid pelvis. With the utilization of both transabdominal and endov
 aginal approaches, the transducer can become an extension of the clini
 cal examiation in the OB/Gyn healthcare setting. Advanced Health Educa
 tion Center's training model for skills classes provides a systematic 
 approach of presenting an overview of the instrumentation and physics 
 related to ultrasound. Classroom presentation and hand-on scanning wil
 l be used to develop a foundation of knowledge related to normal mater
 nal and feal anatomy. The course will then progress on to the performa
 nce of fetal measurements and the ultrasound appearance of fetal anoma
 lies are included. Also included will be a review of case studies rela
 ted to common pathologies. A variety of ultrasound equipment is availa
 ble in the scan lab to allow for development of skills and appropriate
