SUMMARY:Nuclear Medicine 2011: Advances in Clinical Methods PET/CT & S
 PECT/CT
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Nuclear Medicine 2011\n\nFebruary 9 - 13, 2011\
 nThe Ritz-Carlton San Juan Hotel\nSan Juan, Puerto Rico\n\nSponsored b
y: Montefiore Medical Center The University Hospital and Academic Medi
cal Center for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and The Puerto
Rico Society of Nuclear Medicine\n\nCredit Issued by: Albert Einstein
College of Medicine\n\nWho should attend this symposium?\n\nThis activ
ity has been designed for Nuclear Medicine Physicians, Radiologists, T
echnologists and individuals preparing for practice and for certifying
examinations of the American Boards of Nuclear Medicine and Radiology
.\n\nStatement of Needs\n\nAdvances in Nuclear Medicine have been occu
ring at a rapid pace. The areas that have been particularly affected a
re hybrid imaging with both PET/CT and SPECT/CT as well as radionuclid
e therapy. The ability to fuse physiological and anatomic information
with hybrid imaging has greatly enhanced the information available for
patient management. The addition of newer therapeutic interventions h
as provided additional choices for managing serveral oncological areas
, as well. These important advances have mandated the need for Nuclear
Medicine Physicians, Radiologists, Oncologists & Technologists to exp
and their knowledge of this rapidly evolving technology.\n\nEducationa
l Objectives\n\n• Describe the areas that PET/CT will contribute to
patient care.\n• Explain how the utilization of CT as part of the ex
amination enhances PET and SPECT diagnosis of the patient's illness.\n
 • Describe the areas that SPECT/CT will contribute to patient care.\
n\nAccreditation Statement\n\nThis activity has been planned and imple
mented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accr
editation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through joi
nt sponsorship of Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The Albert Eins

ivity for a maximum of approximately 20 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)â„
