  nuclear medicine technologists with experience in cardiac imaging tha
 t are considering sitting for the Nuclear Cardiology Technologist (NCT
 ) certification exam. Attendees will be presented with a review of the
  NMTCB published Nuclear Cardiology Examination Content Specifications
 .\n\nInstrumentation, procedures and processing for all aspects of myo
 cardial imaging will be reviewed. Protocol specific details on patient
  preparation, contra-indications, acquisition and processing parameter
 s for MPI, non-stress myocardial procedures and PET imaging will be pr
 esented. There will be a review of the radiopharmaceuticals used in my
 ocardial perfusion imaging, the image acquisition protocols, sequencin
 g of exam components, imaging and acquisition parameters routinely use
 d to obtain quality SPECT studies. Effects of instrumentation, process
 ing techniques and manipulation of images are included. Recognition of
  imaging artifacts and techniques to eliminate or decrease their impac
 t on image quality will be explained. Nuclear medicine camera system p
 erformance and quality assurance indicators that are key to obtaining 
 optimal diagnostic images will be discussed.\n\nBasic coronary anatomy
  and physiology, as well as cardiac electrophysiology will be reviewed
 ; there will be emphasis on assessment during stress testing, includin
 g endpoints, exercise capacity and performance measures. Participants 
 will be able to interpret basic ECG rhythms. Pharmacologic stress agen
 ts and protocols will be discussed, including indications, adverse eff
 ects, dosing, and medication interactions. Cardiac medications, both t
 herapeutic and acute use will be defined. Patient care, both during th
 e examination and in case of complications will be covered.\n\nThe int
 ended result of this course review is an increased success rate for th
 ose technologists sitting for the Nuclear Cardiology Specialty Examina
