SUMMARY:Musculoskeletal Imaging in the Digital World
DESCRIPTION:Musculoskeletal Imaging in the Digital World\n8 Hours ARRT
  Category A Credit\nRussell L. Cain, MA, MS, CRA, RT(R)(CT)\n\nAbout t
his Seminar\n\nToday’s radiology personnel must continue to educate
themselves to best utilize the advancing technology of digital radiogr
aphy, while maintaining proper positioning and technique to provide th
e best possible diagnostic image with the lowest patient dose. This se
minar is designed to update your musculoskeletal radiography skills an
d improve your understanding of digital radiography. Anatomy, function
and pathology of each major musculoskeletal system will be discussed.
Proper patient positioning and dose optimization will also be discuss
ed, as well as, common artifacts that you will find while utilizing di
gital radiography. Radiologic technologists, students and educators wi
ll find this an enjoyable and useful presentation.\n\nEducational Obje
ctives\n\nUpon completion of this seminar, participants will be able t
o:\n\n• Discuss the anatomy and function of upper and lower extremit
ies.\n• Discuss the dynamics of injury to the upper and lower extrem
ities.\n• Apply routine and atypical positioning of all areas of the
anatomy of the lower and upper extremity modified for Computed Radiog
raphy or Direct Digital Radiography systems.\n• Provide a simple exp
lanation of how a Computed Radiography image is obtained/optimzied.\nâ
€¢ Provide a simple explanation of how a Direct Digital Radiography im
age is obtained/optimzied.\n• Briefly and simply, discuss the techno
logy of Computed Radiography and Direct Digital Radiography.\n• Disc
uss the application of the above techniques for improving quality of i
maging studies while minimizing radiation exposure of the patient (Opt
imizing Dose).\n• Explain, simply, some of the more common artifacts
associated with digital radiography.\n\nAbout the Instructor\n\nRusse
ll L. Cain, MA, MS, CRA, RT(R)(CT)\n\nRuss Cain is an active radiologi
c technologist who is currently the Director of Radiology at Antelope
Valley Hospital in Lancaster, California. Russ is one of the initial g
roup of Certified Radiology Administrators, certified by the American
Healthcare Radiology Administrators. He is an educator who holds multi
ple graduate degrees and has taught psychology and management in under
graduate and graduate programs. Russ is a scuba instructor and is purs
uing a doctoral degree in clinical psychology and Business Administrat
ion. This diverse background facilitates an uncommon insight into the
issues of taking radiology into the electronic age, an insight he will
share with the attendees of this seminar.\n\nSeminar Credit\n\nThis s
eminar provides 8 hours of Category A continuing education credit for
radiologic technologists recognized by the ARRT and various licensure
states. A certificate of attendance will be provided for each individu
al upon completion of the course. All attendees must attend the entire
course to receive full credit.\n\nFor more information visit https://
