 ysician should:\n\nBe familiar with the varying appearance of a normal
  mammogram.\n\nUnderstand the subgroups of in situ and invasive breast
  cancer.\n\nHave competence in the differential diagnosis of breast di
 seases.\n\nBe able to guide the diagnostic workup using mammography, u
 ltrasound and perform needle biopsy.\n\nBe able to analyze the mammogr
 aphic and ultrasound image and determine which adjunctive methods will
  be most appropriate for each of the subgroups of breast diseases.\n\n
 Appreciate the importance of weekly tumor board meetings and cooperati
 on among radiologists, surgeons and pathologists.\n\nUnderstand the va
 lue and relationship of the main prognostic factors in order to predic
 t the outcome of the disease.\n\nThe technologists having attended the
  course should be proficient in mammographic technique and understand 
 the rationale of mammographic workup in order to be a valuable member 
 of the diagnostic team. This course is particularly recommended for te
