volving and exciting fields in medical imaging. MRI has evolved to inc
lude cardiac MRI and functional MRI. You can be a part of this growing
field with didactic (classroom) training and practical clinical rotat
ions. The marriage of a solid theoretical background combined with cli
nical experience is the preparation needed to enter this field. The pr
actical applications and clinical rotations are key ingredients to com
pleting the training. You can choose the right combination of events t
o match your needs. The first component of training is theory, with we
eks two through four available for clinical rotations. Invest in your
future and advance your career.Course TopicsWeek 1 – Theory (total 3
 2 hours)• 20 hours Fundamentals of image formation/instrumentation/s
 afety/physics of NMR• 12 hours Basic Pulse Sequences/Protocols/Image
  Analysis• CE Credit 32 Hours\nWeeks 2,3,4 – Clinical RotationTech
nologists enrolling in clinical rotations are required to complete the
theory portion of the fellowship course prior to being allowed to att
end clinical rotations. 40 hours of clinical rotations (Monday-Friday)
each week will give the fellowship technologist the opportunity to ex
perience a wide array of exams, be tutored by experienced MR professio
nals who provide insights, advice, and help you get the most out of yo
ur training.Certificate of Completion awarded reflecting clinical hour
s completed.**No CE credit is awarded for clinical hoursThis concentra
ted four-week modular course is designed to introduce many aspects of
MRI operation in a practical format focused to promote understanding o
f concepts integrated with “hands on experience”. Course topics in
clude computer operation, technical aspects of MR imaging, fundamental
evaluation of cross-sectional anatomy, and image formation. The learn
ing process is monitored and continuous.Due to the vast amount of info
rmation course attendees must process; homework and or reading may be
assigned each day. AHEC strives to provide the highest quality of cont
inuing education and training in a setting that promotes learning.\nRe
quired Textbooks*• MRI in Practice by Westbrook and KautRecommended
Text• Handbook of MRI Technique 2nd Edition by Westbrook*NOTE. The A
HEC handbook is included in the course tuition. Additional text books
must be purchased. These books may be ordered from AHEC in advance. Pr
ior preparation is recommended and encouraged as advanced reading faci
litates the speed of your learning.\nSelf Assessment Module (SAM): No\
