AHEC offers clinical fellowships to registered radiographers (RT, R) In the modalities of Mammography, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resona nce Imaging and Cardiovascular Radiography. Fellowships are conducted In the Houston, TX area in hospitals, imaging facilities and urgent ca re facilities. The length of clinical fellowship training will vary by the modality selected. **No CE credit is awarded for clinical hours. In order to receive a certificate documenting clinical attendance, tec hnologists must return their timesheet and copies of their clinical co mpetency forms to the AHEC office via mail or fax to the attention of the respective fellowship coordinator. Modality Information MRI, CT, C V Clinical Fellowship: 40 hours of clinical rotations (Monday-Friday) each week will give the technologist the opportunity to experience a w ide array of exams, be tutored by experienced advanced modality profes sionals who provide insights, advice, and help you get the most out of your training. Also, clinical fellowships will allow technologists th e opportunity to accrue some of their clinical experience (competencie s) for preparation for advanced modality examinations. Clinical rotati ons are based on a per week registration by the technologist. It is st rongly recommended attendance in clinical rotations be for the full we eks offered. Register early; there is a limited number of clinical sit es available. It will enhance clinical experience if technologists com municate their goals related to clinical training to the fellowship co ordinator. If you have specific requests regarding equipment preferenc e and/or software, please contact the AHEC clinical fellowship coordin ator related to these modalities. MRI, CT, and CV Fellowship Coordinat or: Rebecca Adams, RT,(R)(CV)(BD)(CBDT)-Program Manager Magnetic Reson ance Imaging Fellowship Clinical: (1-3 week option) Technologists are placed with an emphasis on providing experience on a magnet when avail able, with the field strength and manufacturer requested when possible . MRI fellowship clinical will provide 40-120 hours of MRI training. C linical Fellowship Requirements Clinical Fellowship requires enrolled technologists to meet hospital and imaging center requirements as requ ired by affiliation agreements and education departments. The followin g information must be submitted to obtain a clinical site rotation ass ignment. Fellowship coordinators will contact enrolled technologists i n advance of clinical rotations to secure appropriate documentation. R eliable email and/or telephone contact Information must be provided at time of registration for the class. Failure to provide correct inform ation will result in delay or failure of clinical placement. Required information must be provided a minimum of three weeks prior to the fir st day of the theory class.
