SUMMARY:Introduction to Peripheral Vascular Duplex/Color Flow Imaging
DESCRIPTION:Introduction to Peripheral Vascular Duplex/Color Flow Imag
ing Training Course is taught by leading vascular ultrasound experts,
with a 3:1 faculty to participant hands-on scan ratio and is specifica
lly designed for physicians, sonographers and other medical profession
als who need a strong foundation to begin performing and/or interpreti
ng upper & lower extremity peripheral arterial and venous ultrasound e
xaminations. GCUS offers two day peripheral vascular ultrasound course
s at our facility in St. Petersburg, FL that includes a review of 65+
peripheral vascular ultrasound examinations. The course is held at mul
tiple dates throughout the year, making it the perfect course for both
local participants and participants traveling to Florida. GCUS offers
peripheral vascular ultrasound training as a stand alone two-day cour
se, or as part of a week long vascular ultrasound training and CME pro
gram. In the week long vascular program, participants will learn ultra
sound techniques for the entire vascular system. All protocols are tau
ght in accordance with AIUM & IAC guidelines.\nTopics\n\nVenous Anatom
 y, Scan Techniques & Normal Characteristics\nDuplex / Color Evaluation
of LE, UE DVT\nEvaluation of Venous Insufficiency\nDuplex / Color Eva
luation for Venous Ablation Procedures\nTypes of Vein Ablation Procedu
 res\nPre-Procedure Mapping\nPost-procedure Mapping\nLE Arterial Anatom
 y & Physiology\nClinical Exam & Indirect Testing\nDirect Testing & Dup
lex Scanning\nLive Demo: Arterial Duplex of Lower Arterial Disease\n\n
\nObjectives\n\nIncrease the participant’s knowledge to better per
form and/or interpret upper and lower Peripheral Vascular ultrasound e
xaminations.\nApply knowledge of the anatomy/physiology of the upper a
nd lower extremity venous and arterial systems into the venous and art
erial duplex and physiologic testing examinations.\nCite Doppler/color
physics and be able to (sonographers) apply these principles to optim
ize system controls and/or (physicians) utilize this information for r
ecognizing technical errors which may result in misdiagnosis.\nPerform
routine scan protocols, and document Doppler waveforms for lower extr
emity arterial and venous evaluations of the upper and lower extremity
.\nDifferentiate normal/abnormal imaging, spectral Doppler and color c
haracteristics for identifying arterial and venous disease.\nState the
indications and applications of indirect testing methods for lower ar
terial disease.\nDemonstrate vein mapping techniques to identify suita
bility as a potential arterial bypass graft.\nPerform routine scan pro
tocols and document Doppler waveforms for venous evaluation of the low
er extremities, including pre and post vein ablation evaluation.\nStat
e the role of ultrasound in the diagnosis and treatment of venous insu
fficiency.\nPerform evaluation for venous insufficiency and patency of
perforators for vein therapy treatment\n\n\nFor more information visi
