SUMMARY:Introduction to Peripheral Vascular Duplex/Color Flow Imaging
DESCRIPTION:The Introduction to Peripheral Vascular Ultrasound Course 
 is the first step in obtaining a strong foundation to begin performing
  and/or interpreting upper & lower extremity peripheral arterial and v
 enous ultrasound examinations. This course is taught by leading vascul
 ar ultrasound experts and includes lectures, interactive case presenta
 tions, and extensive hands-on scanning, featuring a 3:1 ratio with liv
 e models and knowledgeable hands on instructors.\n\nObjectives\n\nIncr
 ease the participant’s knowledge to better perform and/or interpret 
 upper and lower Peripheral Vascular ultrasound examinations.\nApply kn
 owledge of the anatomy/physiology of the upper and lower extremity ven
 ous and arterial systems into the venous and arterial duplex and physi
 ologic testing examinations.\nCite Doppler/color physics and be able t
 o (sonographers) apply these principles to optimize system controls or
  (physicians) utilize this information for recognizing technical error
 s which may result in misdiagnosis.\nPerform routine scan protocols, a
 nd document Doppler waveforms for lower extremity arterial and venous 
 evaluations of the upper and lower extremity.\nDifferentiate normal/ab
 normal imaging, spectral Doppler and color characteristics for identif
 ying arterial and venous disease.\nState the indications and applicati
 ons of indirect testing methods for lower arterial disease.\nDemonstra
 te vein mapping techniques to identify suitability as a potential arte
 rial bypass graft.\nPerform routine scan protocols and document Dopple
 r waveforms for venous evaluation of the lower extremities, including 
 pre and post vein ablation evaluation.\nState the role of ultrasound i
 n the diagnosis and treatment of venous insufficiency.\nPerform evalua
 tion for venous insufficiency and patency of perforators for vein ther
