 ing\nThe Introduction to Peripheral Vascular Ultrasound Course is the 
 first step in obtaining a strong foundation to begin performing and/or
  interpreting upper & lower extremity peripheral arterial and venous u
 ltrasound examinations. This course is taught by leading vascular ultr
 asound experts and includes lectures, interactive case presentations, 
 and extensive hands-on scanning, featuring a 3:1 ratio with live model
 s and knowledgeable hands on instructors.\nObjectives\n\nIncrease the 
 participant’s knowledge to better perform and/or interpret upper and
  lower Peripheral Vascular ultrasound examinations.\nApply knowledge o
 f the anatomy/physiology of the upper and lower extremity venous and a
 rterial systems into the venous and arterial duplex and physiologic te
 sting examinations.\nCite Doppler/color physics and be able to (sonogr
 aphers) apply these principles to optimize system controls or (physici
 ans) utilize this information for recognizing technical errors which m
 ay result in misdiagnosis.\nPerform routine scan protocols, and docume
 nt Doppler waveforms for lower extremity arterial and venous evaluatio
 ns of the upper and lower extremity.\nDifferentiate normal/abnormal im
 aging, spectral Doppler and color characteristics for identifying arte
 rial and venous disease.\nState the indications and applications of in
 direct testing methods for lower arterial disease.\nDemonstrate vein m
 apping techniques to identify suitability as a potential arterial bypa
 ss graft.\nPerform routine scan protocols and document Doppler wavefor
 ms for venous evaluation of the lower extremities, including pre and p
 ost vein ablation evaluation.\nState the role of ultrasound in the dia
 gnosis and treatment of venous insufficiency.\nPerform evaluation for 
 venous insufficiency and patency of perforators for vein therapy treat
