articipant should be able to:\n\n1. Identify the anatomy/physiology of
the upper and lower extremity venous and arterial systems.\n2. Discus
s Doppler/color physics and be able to (sonographers) apply these prin
ciples to optimize system controls or (physicians) utilize this inform
ation for recognizing technical errors which may result in misdiagnosi
s.\n3. Perform routine scan protocols & document Doppler waveforms for
arterial & venous evaluations of the lower extremity.\n4. Perform rou
tine scan protocol for upper extremity venous evaluation.\n5. Identify
  normal/abnormal spectral Doppler/color characteristics & waveform cha
racteristics for identifying arterial & venous disease. Explain method
s for obtaining quantitative information & the diagnostic relevance of
each measurement.\n6. Recognize image characteristics of acute versus
chronic DVT.\n7. State the indications and applications of indirect t
esting methods for lower arterial disease.\n8. Apply the information d
iscussed in a clinical setting, under supervised conditions until an a
ccepted level of proficiency has been achieved.\n9. Increase knowledge
and confidence to perform and/or interpret examinations.\n\nCourse To
 pics:\n\n* Doppler fundamentals\n* Venous anatomy/scan techniques, nor
mal characteristics & pathology\n* Live demo: evaluation for DVT\n* Up
per extremity evaluation\n* Saphenous vein mapping\n* Venous insuffici
ency and upper extremities\n* Lower extremity arterial anatomy/physiol
 ogy\n* Clinical exam/indirect testing\n* Direct testing/duplex scannin
