SUMMARY:Introduction to Musculoskeletal Ultrasound - Includes Human Ca
daver Workshop for Injection and Aspiration Techniques!
DESCRIPTION:Course Benefits/Unique Highlights:\n\nOpt to attend our wo
rkshop with unembalmed human cadaver specimens to practice U/S-guided
injection and aspiration techniques.\nEvaluate upper and lower extremi
ty joints\nEvaluate the hip and spine\nBreak-out groups for scanning p
rotocols and case study reviews\nScan live models with 3:1 participant
-to-instructor ratio\n\nUnembalmed Human Cadaver Workshop DescriptionW
orking in collaboration with the AEC Learning Center, Gulfcoast Ultras
ound designed this workshop to complement participation in the Introdu
ction to MSK Ultrasound program. Participants will have an opportunity
to perform ultrasound-guided injection and aspiration techniques on u
nembalmed human cadaver specimens. The optional session will develop s
kills, enhance confidence, and minimize barriers to integrate these te
chniques into clinical practice. Registration is limited to individual
s who are registered for this course.\nAt the completion of this progr
am, the participant should be able to:\n\nExplain ultrasound physics p
rinciples and imaging fundamentals for musculoskeletal imaging.\nDescr
ibe techniques and protocols for performing shoulder, elbow, wrist/han
d, knee, ankle and foot ultrasound examinations.\nIdentify normal anat
omy during musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging.\nExplain the capabiliti
es and limitations of musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging.\nIdentify so
nographic appearance of commonly seen pathology of the shoulder, knee,
elbow wrist hand, ankle and foot.\nState the indications and benefits
of MSK ultrasound for sports medicine injuries, physical medicine & r
ehabilitation, and rheumatology applications.\nExplain the use of MSK
sonography for diagnosis and ultrasound-guided interventions.\nDiscuss
the indications/findings for MSK hip and spine sonography.\nDescribe
“in-plane” and “out of plane” injection and aspiration techniq
ues.\nIncrease the participant’s knowledge to better perform and/or
interpret MSK U/S examinations.\nApply the information discussed in a
clinical setting, ideally under supervised conditions until an accepta
ble level of proficiency has been achieved.\nOptional: Perform ultraso
und-guided injection techniques on human cadaver specimens.\n\n \nCou
 rse Topics:\n\nImaging fundamentals\nShoulder and elbow anatomy/Scan t
 echniques/Pathology\nHand and wrist anatomy/Scan techniques/Live demon
 stration\nAspiration/Injection techniques\nKnee anatomy/scan technique
 s/Knee pathology\nFoot and ankle anatomy/scan techniques/Live demonstr
 ation\nMSK in Rheumatology: Indication/applications; diagnosis & inter
 vention\nLive demonstration;  Q/A all areas;\nInteractive Case Presen
 tations\nReimbursement, Credentialing & Lab Accreditation\nHands-on se
ssions with a less then or equal to 3:1 participant to instructor rati
o (at each station)\n\n\nFor more information visit https://community.
