 1\nDescription:Working in collaboration with the AEC Learning Center, 
 Gulfcoast Ultrasound designed this workshop to complement participatio
 n in the Introduction to MSK Ultrasound program. Participants will hav
 e an opportunity to perform ultrasound-guided injection and aspiration
  techniques on unembalmed human cadaver specimens. The optional sessio
 n will develop skills, enhance confidence, and minimize barriers to in
 tegrate these techniques into clinical practice. Registration is limit
 ed to individuals who are registered for this course.\nAt the completi
 on of this program, the participant should be able to: 1.Explain ultra
 sound physics principles and imaging fundamentals for musculoskeletal 
 imaging.2.Describe techniques and protocols for performing shoulder, e
 lbow, wrist/hand, knee, ankle and foot ultrasound examinations.3.Ident
 ify normal anatomy during musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging.4.Explain
  the capabilities and limitations of musculoskeletal ultrasound imagin
 g.5.Identify sonographic appearance of commonly seen pathology of the 
 shoulder, knee, elbow wrist hand, ankle and foot.6.State the indicatio
 ns and benefits of MSK ultrasound for sports medicine injuries, physic
 al medicine & rehabilitation, and rheumatology applications.7.Explain 
 the use of MSK sonography for diagnosis and ultrasound-guided interven
 tions.8.Discuss the indications/findings for MSK hip and spine sonogra
 phy.9.Describe “in-plane” and “out of plane” injection and asp
 iration techniques.10.Increase the participant’s knowledge to better
  perform and/or interpret MSK U/S examinations.11.Apply the informatio
 n discussed in a clinical setting, ideally under supervised conditions
  until an acceptable level of proficiency has been achieved.12.Optiona
