DESCRIPTION:At the completion of this program, the participant should 
 be able to:\nExplain the basic imaging fundamentals of ultrasound phys
 ics.\nDemonstrate proper transducer manipulation and system optimizati
 on to produce diagnostic images.\nDescribe the abdominal cross-section
 al anatomy visualized by ultrasound.\nPerform scan protocols and routi
 ne measurements that are utilized during an abdominal ultrasound evalu
 ation.\nIdentify normal imaging characteristics of the liver, gallblad
 der, pancreas, spleen, kidneys and abdominal vasculature.\nDiscuss ima
 ging characteristics of commonly seen pathology associated with the li
 ver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, retroperitoneum, and vasc
 ulature.\nDescribe scanning protocols for an abdominal ultrasound exam
 ination and/or a limited evaluation of individual organ systems such a
 s gallbladder, liver, pancreas, kidneys etc.\nDifferentiate normal/abn
 ormal characteristics for the evaluation of the thyroid, testes/scrotu
 m, and appendix.\nIncrease participant’s knowledge to better perform
