SUMMARY:Introduction to Emergency Ultrasound
DESCRIPTION:At the completion of this program, the participant should 
 be able to:\nDiscuss the basic fundamentals of ultrasound physics/inst
 rumentation to describe imaging artifacts.\nExplain the operation of t
 he ultrasound system controls and appropriate transducer selection for
  different applications.\nDemonstrate proper transducer manipulation a
 nd system optimization to produce diagnostic images\nPerform ultrasoun
 d evaluation of the trauma patient (F.A.S.T. exam).\nPerform the scan 
 protocols for focused evaluation of the abdomen (including aorta), fem
 ale pelvis and adult heart.\nDifferentiate normal/abnormal image chara
 cteristics of the abdomen (including aorta), female pelvis, first trim
 ester OB, ectopic pregnancy and adult heart.\nDemonstrate the use of u
 ltrasound guidance for vascular access.\nPerform a transabdominal GYN 
 ultrasound examination.\nDescribe image orientation, transducer prepar
 ation, scan protocols for performing an endovaginal ultrasound exam.\n
 Increase knowledge and confidence to perform and/or interpret emergenc
