 he basic fundamentals of ultrasound physics/instrumentation to differe
 ntiate imaging artifacts.\n2. Explain the operation of the ultrasound 
 system controls and appropriate transducer selection for different app
 lications.\n3. Perform ultrasound evaluation of the trauma patient (F.
 A.S.T. exam).\n4. Perform the scan protocols for focused evaluation of
  the abdomen (including aorta), female pelvis and adult heart.\n5. Ide
 ntify normal/abnormal image characteristics of the abdomen (including 
 aorta), female pelvis, first trimester OB, ectopic pregnancy & adult h
 eart.\n6. Describe image orientation, transducer preparation, scan pro
 tocols for performing an endovaginal GYN exam.\n7. Increase knowledge 
 and confidence to perform and/or interpret emergency ultrasound examin
 ations.\n8. Apply the information discussed in a clinical setting, und
 er supervised conditions until an accepted level of proficiency has be
