DESCRIPTION:At the completion of this program, the participant should 
 be able to:\nDiscuss the basic fundamentals of ultrasound physics/inst
 rumentation and recognize image artifacts.\nDemonstrate the operation 
 of the ultrasound system controls and transducer selection.\nIntegrate
  routine scan protocols during evaluation of the abdomen, venous syste
 m of the lower and upper extremities, thorax and adult heart.\nRecogni
 ze normal/abnormal image characteristics of the abdomen, thorax, upper
  and lower extremity venous system and adult heart.\nDescribe image or
 ientation, transducer preparation, & scan protocols for performing use
  of ultrasound guidance in the placement of peripheral and central ven
 ous lines & arterial catheters.\nDemonstrate ultrasound applications i
 n the evaluation of the critically ill unstable patient.\nExplain the 
 use of U/S guidance for performing thoracentesis, pericardiocentesis &
  endotracheal tube placement.\nDescribe image orientation, transducer 
 placement, and scan protocols for performing ultrasound for lung imagi
 ng and evaluation of Pneumothorax.\nDiscuss the process of hospital cr
 edentialing and review billing and reimbursement policies.\nIncrease p
 articipant’s knowledge to better perform and/or interpret ultrasound
