 se is the first step in obtaining a strong foundation in order to begi
 n performing and/or interpreting Carotid Ultrasound Examinations. This
  course is taught by leading vascular ultrasound experts and includes 
 lectures, interactive case presentations, and extensive hands-on scann
 ing, featuring a 3:1 ratio with live models and knowledgeable hands on
  instructors.\n\nObjectives\n\nIncrease the participant’s knowledge 
 to better perform and/or interpret Carotid Duplex/Color Flow Imaging u
 ltrasound examinations.\nApply knowledge of the anatomy/physiology of 
 the cerebrovascular system into the Carotid Duplex examination.\nCite 
 Doppler/color physics principles and be able to (sonographers) apply t
 hese principles to optimize system controls or (physicians) utilize th
 is information for identifying technical errors which may result in mi
 sdiagnosis.\nPerform routine scan protocols and Doppler calculations i
 n a complete carotid duplex/color examination.\nDifferentiate normal/a
 bnormal spectral Doppler/color characteristics.\nList methods for obta
 ining quantitative information and state the diagnostic relevance of e
 ach measurement.\nCharacterize plaque morphology and other pathology a
 ssociated with cerebral vascular disease.\nPerform Intima-Media Thickn
 ess measurements and state the clinical significance as a screening me
 thod for cardiovascular disease.\nIntegrate the information to include
  and prepare a structured report for a carotid ultrasound examination.
