 scular system.\n2. Discuss Doppler/color physics and be able to (sonog
 raphers) apply these principles to optimize system controls or (physic
 ians) utilize this information for identifying technical errors which 
 may result in misdiagnosis.\n3. Perform routine scan protocols, and Do
 ppler calculations in a complete carotid duplex/color examination.\n4.
  Identify normal/abnormal spectral Doppler/ color characteristics; exp
 lain methods for obtaining quantitative information and state the diag
 nostic relevance of each measurement.\n5. Desscribe and characterize p
 laque and other pathology associated with cerebrovascular disease.\n6.
  Discuss Intima-Media Thickness measurements and evaluation and their 
 clinical significance as a screening method for cardiovascular disease
 .\n7. Apply the information discussed in a clinical setting, under sup
 ervised conditions until an accepted level of proficiency has been ach
 ieved.\n8. Increase knowledge and confidence to perform and/or interpr
