SUMMARY:Introduction to Abdominal Ultrasound
DESCRIPTION:The focus of this three day course is to provide participa
 nts with the “need to know” information to efficiently and effecti
 vely complete a general abdominal ultrasound procedure. The course beg
 ins with basic ultrasound techniques involved in completing an abdomin
 al ultrasound series and general handling of the ultrasound device. Th
 e course comprises an introduction to normal ultrasound anatomy of the
  abdominal organs, followed by lecture presentations of the common pat
 hologic changes encountered in a diagnostic procedure. Lecture is foll
 owed each day by a faculty supervised hands on ultrasound scan lab. Th
 e Interactive scan lab with live models and small groups allow each pa
 rticipant ample opportunity to gain the knowledge and skill needed to 
 independently perform a basic abdominal ultrasound procedure.\n\nFor m
