SUMMARY:Introduction to Abdominal Ultrasound
DESCRIPTION: The focus of this three day course is to provide partici
 pants with the “need to know” information to efficiently and effec
 tively complete a general abdominal ultrasound procedure. The course b
 egins with basic ultrasound techniques involved in completing an abdom
 inal ultrasound series and general handling of the ultrasound device. 
 The course comprises an introduction to normal ultrasound anatomy of t
 he abdominal organs, followed by lecture presentations of the common p
 athologic changes encountered in a diagnostic procedure. Lecture is fo
 llowed each day by a faculty supervised hands on ultrasound scan lab. 
 The Interactive scan lab with live models and small groups allow each 
 participant ample opportunity to gain the knowledge and skill needed t
 o independently perform a basic abdominal ultrasound procedure.\n\nFor
