SUMMARY:Introduction to Abdominal Ultrasound
DESCRIPTION:Diagnostic ultrasound is an easy, accurate and cost effect
 ive imaging tool available to expedite patient diagnosis and ultimatel
 y patient care. The focus of this three day course is to provide parti
 cipants with the “need to know” information to efficiently and eff
 ectively complete a general abdominal ultrasound procedure.   The co
 urse begins with basic ultrasound techniques involved in completing an
  abdominal ultrasound series and general handling of the ultrasound de
 vice.   The course comprises an introduction to normal ultrasound an
 atomy of the abdominal organs, followed by lecture presentations of th
 e common pathologic changes encountered in a diagnostic procedure. Lec
 ture is followed each day by a faculty supervised hands on ultrasound 
 scan lab.  The Interactive scan lab with live models and small groups
  allow each participant ample opportunity to gain the knowledge and sk
 ill needed to independently perform a basic abdominal ultrasound proce
