 aining course is taught by leading experts and covers abdominal, traum
 a, thyroid, scrotal, and soft-tissue applications. This unique course 
 incorporates comprehensive lectures, interactive case presentations, a
 nd extensive hands-on scanning, featuring a 3:1 ratio with live models
  and inanimate phantoms.\nObjectives\n\nIncrease participant’s knowl
 edge to better perform and/or interpret abdominal ultrasound examinati
 ons.\nDemonstrate proper transducer manipulation and system optimizati
 on to produce diagnostic images.\nPerform scan protocols and routine m
 easurements that are utilized during an abdominal ultrasound evaluatio
 n.\nIdentify normal/abnormal imaging characteristics of the liver, gal
 lbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys and abdominal vasculature.\nCite D
 oppler/color physics principles and be able to (sonographers) apply th
 ese principles to optimize system controls or (physicians) utilize thi
 s information for identifying technical errors which may result in mis
 diagnosis (optional lecture).\nDemonstrate routine examination protoco
 ls associated with the ultrasound evaluation of renal artery stenosis 
 (optional lecture).\nDifferentiate normal/abnormal characteristics for
  the evaluation of the thyroid, testes/scrotum, and appendix.\nPerform
  ultrasound evaluation of the trauma patient (FAST exam).\nDemonstrate
