DESCRIPTION:The three-day hands-on Abdominal/Family Medicine ultrasoun
 d course provides participants with a strong foundation to perform the
  core ultrasound applications as outlined in the AIUM ultrasound pract
 ice guidelines. This unique hands-on abdominal ultrasound training pro
 gram is taught by leading ultrasound expert physicians and sonographer
 s to provide the perfect balance of a physicians clinical experience a
 nd sonographers expertise. The abdominal/family medicine ultrasound tr
 aining incorporates lectures, interactive case presentations using an 
 audience response system, and extensive hands-on scanning, featuring a
  3:1 ratio with live models and inanimate phantoms.  Topics covered i
 nclude liver, gallbladder/biliary system, renal, abdominal aorta, sple
 en, trauma ultrasound (FAST exam), testicular and thyroid, and soft-ti
 ssue applications.  This abdominal sonography hands-on workshop is a
 pproved for 24.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (also meets ARDMS and l
 ab accreditation CME requirements).  In addition the abdominal ultras
 ound hands-on course is approved for 22.0 hours of ACEP Category I Cre
