 ld be able to:\n\n• Explain the basic fundamentals of U/S physics/in
 strumentation.\n• Describe the abdominal cross-sectional anatomy, sc
 an protocols and routine measurements.\n• Identify normal imaging ch
 aracteristics of the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys and
  abdominal vasculature.\n• Discuss imaging characteristics of common
 ly seen pathology associated with the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, sp
 leen, kidneys, retroperitoneum, and vasculature.\n• Describe scannin
 g protocols and normal/abnormal characteristics for the evaluation of 
 the thyroid, testes/scrotum and appendix.\n• Increase knowledge and 
 confidence to perform and/or interpret abdominal ultrasound examinatio
 ns.\n• Apply the information discussed in a clinical setting, under 
 supervised conditions until an accepted level of proficiency has been
