 s & Topics\n\nAt the completion of this program, the participant shoul
 d be able to:\n\n1. Explain ultrasound physics principles and imaging 
 fundamentals for musculoskeletal imaging.\n2. Describe techniques and 
 protocols for performing shoulder, elbow, wrist/hand, knee, ankle and 
 foot ultrasound examinations.\n3. Identify normal anatomy during muscu
 loskeletal ultrasound imaging.\n4. Explain the capabilities and limita
 tions of musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging.\n5. Identify sonographic 
 appearance of commonly seen pathology of the shoulder, knee, elbow wri
 st hand, ankle and foot.\n6. State the indications and benefits of MSK
  ultrasound for sports medicine injuries, physical medicine & rehabili
 tation, and rheumatology applications.\n7. Explain the use of MSK sono
 graphy for diagnosis and ultrasound-guided interventions.\n8. Discuss 
 the indications/findings for MSK hip and spine sonography.\n9. Describ
 e “in-plane” and “out of plane” injection and aspiration techn
 iques.\n10. Increase the participant’s knowledge to better perform a
 nd/or interpret MSK U/S examinations.\n11. Optional: Perform ultrasoun
 d-guided injection techniques on human cadaver specimens.\n12. Apply t
 he information discussed in a clinical setting, ideally under supervis
 ed conditions until an acceptable level of proficiency has been achiev
 ed.\n\nTarget Audience\nAny physician, sonographer, PA or other medica
 l professional who will be involved in diagnostic MSK ultrasound evalu
 ations. Participants may include (but are not limited to) physicians a
 nd sonographers working in rheumatology, sports medicine, physical med
 icine and rehabilitation, podiatry, athletic training, orthopedics, em
 ergency medicine, radiology, internal medicine, and family practice. P
 A’s may also attend.\n\nCME Credit Statements\nThe Gulfcoast Ultraso
