DESCRIPTION:At the completion of this program, the participant should 
 be able to:\nIdentify the anatomy/physiology of the upper and lower ex
 tremity venous systems.\nDiscuss Doppler/color physics and be able to 
 (sonographers) apply these principles to optimize system controls or (
 physicians) utilize this information for recognizing technical errors 
 which may result in misdiagnosis.\nPerform routine scan protocols, & d
 ocument Doppler waveforms for venous evaluation of the lower extremity
 .\nPerform routine scan protocols for venous evaluation of the upper e
 xtremity.\nDifferentiate normal/abnormal spectral Doppler/color charac
 teristics and waveform characteristics for identifying venous disease.
 \nRecognize image characteristics of acute versus chronic DVT.\nDiscus
 s the use of ultrasound guidance and its role in the treatment of veno
 us insufficiency.\nIncrease the participants’ knowledge to better pe
 rform and/or interpret upper and lower peripheral vascular ultrasound
