DESCRIPTION:The International Paediatric Radiology Congress, which is 
 held every tenth year in Europe, is coming to London from the 27th 31s
 t May 2011, at the Metropole Hilton Hotel.  This event is being organ
 ised by the joint societies of Paediatric Radiology, the European Soci
 ety of Paediatric Radiology (ESPR) and the Society for Pediatric Radio
 logy (SPR) and supported by the Asian Oceanic Society for Paediatric R
 adiology (AOSPR) and Sociedad Latino Americana de Radiología Pediátr
 ica (SLARP).\n \nThere is an exciting and extensive programme on offe
 r which includes; a wide selection of world renowned speakers, debates
 , competitions, a selection of six different sunrise sessions each mor
 ning, 200 posters, and a series of state of the art mini-symposia.  T
 he social programme makes the most of London’s legendary and unique 
 artistic, historic and architectural heritage.\n \nOn Friday 27th May
  there are summits being held on both Radiation Protection and Paediat
 ric Ultrasound.  Details are listed below.\n \n \nRadiation Protect
 ion Summit\n \nThis is an unusual opportunity to hear some of the lat
 est developments on ultrasound and radiation safety. The radiation saf
 ety symposium offers a platform to a number of world renowned speakers
  and researchers:  Professor Willi Kallender, (Erlangen, Germany) Dr 
 Paul Shrimpton (lead physicist HPA aka NRPB), and Dr Keith Strauss (Im
 age Gently USA) who have written seminal articles and performed extens
 ive research into medical radiation.\n \nThe symposium includes didac
 tic lectures delivered by world leading physicists and medical practit
 ioners, and thence interactive debates with point /counterpoint ideas 
 on whether we should consent patients for radiation exposures.\n \nTh
 is will be a superb opportunity to keep up-to-date for anyone involved
  in imaging, and it will help to ensure that all medical and paramedic
 al staff speak the same language when outlining the evidence based eff
 ects, and the consequences of medical radiation burden on young popula

 sound. Areas to be covered include advances in neonatal cranial, spine
  and gastrointestinal sonography, paediatric applications for transcra
 nial Doppler, and updates in chest, renal and musculoskeletal paediatr
