 completion of the program the physician, rheumatologist, sonographer o
 r other medical professional participant should be able to:\n\n1. Expl
 ain U/S physics principles and imaging fundamentals for musculoskeleta
 l imaging.\n2. Describe techniques and protocols for performing should
 er, elbow, wrist/hand, knee, ankle and foot ultrasound examinations.\n
 3. Identify normal anatomy during musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging.\
 n4. Explain the capabilities and limitations of musculoskeletal ultras
 ound imaging.\n5. Identify sonographic appearance of commonly seen pat
 hology of the shoulder, knee, elbow, wrist, hand, ankle and foot.\n6. 
 Discuss the indications and findings for musculoskeletal sonography in
  rheumatology applications.\n7. Explain the use of MSK sonography for 
 diagnosis and ultrasound-guided interventions for rheumatology applica
 tions.\n8. State the indications and benefits of MSK ultrasound for sp
 orts medicine injuries.\n9. Describe “in-plane” and “out of plan
 e” injection and aspiration techniques.\n10. NEW in 2009! Discuss th
 e indications/findings for MSK hip and spine sonography.\n11. Increase
  knowledge and confidence to perform and/or interpret MSK U/S exams.\n
 12. Apply the information discussed in a clinical setting under superv
