 99\n\nMEETING DESCRIPTION:\nUltrasound is playing an increasingly impo
 rtant role in gynecology. Applications of Gynecological ultrasound inc
 lude general screening of women who are currently or have previously e
 xperienced menopause, and special diagnostic and therapeutic procedure
 s, such as ovarian cyst aspirations and sonohysterograms (evaluation o
 f the internal surface of the uterus). Gynecologic ultrasound provides
  visualization of the uterus and ovaries that may add important additi
 onal information not demonstrated using other imaging methods or with 
 physical exam findings.\n\nYou will leave this course with a thorough 
 understanding of this modality. Model demonstrations and hands-on scan
 ning will present opportunities to have specific questions answered. T
 he addition of Doppler to the study will allow inclusion of several pa
 thological conditions not otherwise visualized.\n\nObjectives\nAt the 
 completion of this course, the learner will be able to:\n• Successfu
 lly complete endovaginal ultrasound examinations following correct pat
 ient preparation and procedure protocols.\n• Identify and display ap
 propriate normal anatomy and orientation in the ultrasound field of vi
 ew.\n• Use an endovaginal transducer to perform the procedure.\n• 
 Demonstrate a working knowledge of the importance of quality assurance
  in ultrasound as described in AIUM guidelines.\n• Understand variat
 ions in scanning protocols for demonstration in gynecological examinat
 ions.\n• Demonstrate techniques for transducer cleaning and infectio
 n control.\n• Be able to identify sources and research reference mat
 erials for additional information on gynecological ultrasound.\n• Us
 e Doppler ultrasound as an adjunct imaging method in a gynecological e

  to the specialties of OB/GYN, Family Practice, Emergency Medicine or
