 icated instruction in musculoskeletal ultrasound of the extremities an
 d will include the unique feature of supervised hands-on workshops wit
 h live models. An additional interventional workshop will allow the pa
 rticipant to practice needle placement under ultrasound guidance.\n\nT
 hrough didactic presentations and hands-on workshops, participants wil
 l be able to:\n• Become familiar with the anatomy of the extremities
 \n• List the basic components of extremity ultrasound technique\n•
  Scan a subject using ultrasound and recognize major anatomical struct
 ures\n• Recognize common pathology of the musculoskeletal system as 
 seen at ultrasound\n• Become familiar with ultrasound-guided interve
 ntional technique\n\nHighlights of the program include:\n• Guest fac
 ulty: Viviane Khoury, MD, McGill University\n• Lectures and workshop
 s by University of Michigan faculty\n• Course syllabus\n• 1.5 hour
 s of didactic lectures and daily hands-on workshops daily\n• Limited
  registration to ensure ample hands-on experience and close supervisio
 n\n• Additional independent scanning open to participants each after
 noon\n(Wednesday – Saturday, no models or faculty)\n• Saturday aft
 ernoon optional workshop for review and to address specific questions 
 / applications with faculty\n• Opportunity to use and compare severa
 l ultrasound machines from various companies\n• Afternoons free for 
 independent study, relaxation, or recreation\n• Continental breakfas
