 \n\nMEETING DESCRIPTION:\nProgram Description:\nThis two-day program p
rovides a comprehensive introduction to the science and practice of fe
tal echocardiography.\n\nThe course will provide an understanding of t
he unique requirements of fetal echo in the diagnosis of structural ma
lformations of the heart and will also include the use of pulsed, cont
inuous wave, and color Doppler as well as M-mode in fetal cardiovascul
ar diagnosis. Findings from the ultrasonographic/Doppler assessment of
fetal cardiovascular physiology will be related to the pre- and postn
atal management of congenital heart disease. Throughout the program th
e clinical importance of observations made during the fetal echo exam
will be detailed.\n\nTypical presentation topics for this course inclu
de:\n- Normal 4 Chamber Hearts with Devastating Congenital Heart Disea
se\n- The Normal Fetal Heart As Part of the Fetal Ultrasound Study: Wh
at It Should Include\n- The 2-Minute Heart Study: How To Sweep Slowly
for Position, Size, Function and Rhythm\n- Terminology for Congenital
Heart Disease/Fetal Cardiology\n- Indications for a Targeted Fetal Ech
ocardiography\n- The Comprehensive Fetal Echocardiogram\n- Normal and
Abnormal Atrial and Atrio-Ventricular Connections\n- Normal and Abnorm
al Ventriculo-Arterial Alignments\n- The Use of Doppler in High Risk\n
 - Normal Structures but Sick Heart\n- Evaluation and Treatment of Feta
l Arrhythmias\n- Evaluation and Treatment of Fetal Congestive Heart\n-
Difficult Fetal Heart Diagnostic Differentials\n- Surgical Treatments
and Outcomes for Complex Congenital Heart Disease\n- Fetal Pathologic
Correlates: Hands on Fetal Cardiac Specimens\n\nEducational Objective
s:\nThrough attending this program the participant should be able to:\
n\n-list the elements of screening and complete fetal heart exams\n- i
dentify the common forms of congenital heart disease\n- recognize an a
bnormal four chamber view of the heart\n- relate abnormal cardiac Dopp
ler findings to the clinical outcome\n\nINSTRUCTORS:\nWilkes, Anisman,
