SUMMARY:Digital Breast Tomosynthesis
DESCRIPTION:Come spend the day learning the new digital mammography ap
 plication that has shown an increase in breast cancer detection and a 
 reduction in call back rates. The day is filled with interesting new i
 nformation on Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT). We will investigate 
 the DBT technology, mammography technologist quality control testing, 
 clinical applications and more. While 2D mammography has its benefits 
 over analog there is still the issue of superimposed tissue which can 
 obscure structures. This unique modality demonstrates breast tissue wi
 thout overlying structures by imaging the breast in thin cross section
 al slices. You don’t want to miss this day of education and get in o
 n the ground floor of knowledge regarding this fascinating new modalit
 y. Digital Breast Tomosynthesis is a new modality under MQSA which req
 uires personnel to receive 8 hours of initial training before performi
 ng this clinical examination. This seminar provides 8 hours of initial
  training in digital breast tomosynthesis for technologists as require
 d by MQSA. Physicians are welcome to attend and receive 8 Category 1 c
 redits however the MQSA requirements for physicians in this modality a
 re specific to interpretation. Physicians must call AHEC at 800-239-13
 61 to register for this course in order to receive Category 1 credit.
