SUMMARY:Coronary CT Angiography
DESCRIPTION:Coronary CT Angiography\n\nCourse Overview\n\nThis course
is designed to optimize your clinical practice skills by providing int
ense training in interpreting coronary CTA examinations under the supe
rvision of expert faculty. Participants use workstations with the same
vendor software as in their own practice and have access to over 150
cases. Most cases include clinical scenarios as well as coronary cathe
ter angiography correlation. The course also covers technical consider
ations for obtaining optimal examinations for interpretation using sca
 nner simulation technology.\n\nSchedule & Registration\nMember Fee*: $
 4,000.00\nNov. 11-13, 2011 (Fri – Sun)\n\nCourse Directors\n\nAmar S
hah, MD\nAssistant Professor Radiology, New York Medical College\nDire
ctor, Cardiac and Vascular MR and CT\n\nJoe Y. Hsu, MD\nKaiser Permane
nte, Los Angeles\nProgram Objectives\n\nAt the conclusion of this conf
erence, participants will be able to:\n\n1. Identify normal cardiac an
atomy, including coronary arteries, coronary veins, cardiac chambers,
valves, and great vessels, as well as identify and describe the clinic
al importance of variant anatomy\n\n2. Describe basic technical aspect
s of coronary CT, including prospective versus retrospective gating, s
ingle-cycle versus multicycle reconstruction, temporal resolution, spa
tial resolution, scan parameters, and contrast-injection techniques\n\
n3. Determine appropriate technique for administering beta blockers an
d nitroglycerin, with knowledge of absolute and relative contraindicat
ions\n\n4. Identify and describe how to improve examinations with arti
facts, such as cardiac arrhythmias, ECG misregistration, and poor brea
th hold\n\n5. Describe the use of different post-processing techniques
based on the appropriate clinical indication, including axial source
images, multiplanar reconstructions, maximum intensity projections, an
 d volume-rendered images\n\nAttendees will be awarded a Certificate of
Proficiency that includes the number of cases reviewed, which can be
attributed to the case requirements specified in the ACR Practice Guid
eline for the Performance and Interpretation of Cardiac Computed Tomog
raphy.\nRequired Course Materials\n\nIn order to ensure you have a gre
at experience, we have pulled together material for the CTA course to
make sure you are adequately prepared to complete the requirements of
this course.\n\n* Members-in-Training fee is 50% off member rate. Atte
ndees who register 3 months in advance will receive a $250 discount (M
