SUMMARY:Coronary CT Angiography
DESCRIPTION:Coronary CT Angiography\n\nCourse Overview\nThis course is
designed to optimize your clinical practice skills by providing inten
se training in interpreting coronary CTA examinations under the superv
ision of expert faculty. Participants use workstations with the same v
endor software as in their own practice and have access to over 150 ca
ses. Most cases include clinical scenarios as well as coronary cathete
r angiography correlation. The course also covers technical considerat
ions for obtaining optimal examinations for interpretation using scann
 er simulation technology.\n\nSchedule & Registration\nMember Fee*: $4,
 000.00\nMay 20-22 2011 (Fri – Sun)\n\nCourse Directors\n\nAmar Shah,
MD\nAssistant Professor Radiology, New York Medical College\nDirector
, Cardiac and Vascular MR and CT\n\nJoe Y. Hsu, MD\nKaiser Permanente,
Los Angeles\n\nProgram Objectives\n\nAt the conclusion of this confer
ence, participants will be able to:\n\n1. Identify normal cardiac anat
omy, including coronary arteries, coronary veins, cardiac chambers, va
lves, and great vessels, as well as identify and describe the clinical
importance of variant anatomy\n\n2. Describe basic technical aspects
of coronary CT, including prospective versus retrospective gating, sin
gle-cycle versus multicycle reconstruction, temporal resolution, spati
al resolution, scan parameters, and contrast-injection techniques\n\n3
. Determine appropriate technique for administering beta blockers and
nitroglycerin, with knowledge of absolute and relative contraindicatio
ns\n\n4. Identify and describe how to improve examinations with artifa
cts, such as cardiac arrhythmias, ECG misregistration, and poor breath
hold\n\n5. Describe the use of different post-processing techniques b
ased on the appropriate clinical indication, including axial source im
ages, multiplanar reconstructions, maximum intensity projections, and
 volume-rendered images\n\nAttendees will be awarded a Certificate of P
roficiency that includes the number of cases reviewed, which can be at
tributed to the case requirements specified in the ACR Practice Guidel
ine for the Performance and Interpretation of Cardiac Computed Tomogra
phy.\nRequired Course Materials\n\nIn order to ensure you have a great
experience, we have pulled together material for the CTA course to ma
ke sure you are adequately prepared to complete the requirements of th
is course.\n\n* Members-in-Training fee is 50% off member rate. Attend
