SUMMARY:Coronary CT Angiography
DESCRIPTION:Coronary CT Angiography\n\nSchedule & Registration\nFeb. 1
 8-20, 2011 (Fri – Sun)\nMember Fee*: $4,000.00\n\nCourse Overview\n\
nThis course is designed to optimize your clinical practice skills by
providing intense training in interpreting coronary CTA examinations u
nder the supervision of expert faculty. Participants use workstations
with the same vendor software as in their own practice and have access
to over 150 cases. Most cases include clinical scenarios as well as c
oronary catheter angiography correlation. The course also covers techn
ical considerations for obtaining optimal examinations for interpretat
ion using scanner simulation technology. Preparation material for this
course can be found here. (registration required)\n\nCourse Directors
\n\nAmar Shah, MD\nAssistant Professor Radiology, New York Medical Col
lege\nDirector, Cardiac and Vascular MR and CT\n\nJoe Y. Hsu, MD\nKais
er Permanente, Los Angeles\n\nProgram Objectives\nAt the conclusion of
this conference, participants will be able to:\n\n1. Identify normal
cardiac anatomy, including coronary arteries, coronary veins, cardiac
chambers, valves, and great vessels, as well as identify and describe
the clinical importance of variant anatomy\n\n2. Describe basic techni
cal aspects of coronary CT, including prospective versus retrospective
gating, single-cycle versus multicycle reconstruction, temporal resol
ution, spatial resolution, scan parameters, and contrast-injection tec
hniques\n\n3. Determine appropriate technique for administering beta b
lockers and nitroglycerin, with knowledge of absolute and relative con
traindications\n\n4. Identify and describe how to improve examinations
with artifacts, such as cardiac arrhythmias, ECG misregistration, and
poor breath hold\n\n5. Describe the use of different post-processing
techniques based on the appropriate clinical indication, including axi
al source images, multiplanar reconstructions, maximum intensity proje
ctions, and volume-rendered images\n\nAttendees will be awarded a Cert
ificate of Proficiency that includes the number of cases reviewed, whi
ch can be attributed to the case requirements specified in the ACR Pra
ctice Guideline for the Performance and Interpretation of Cardiac Comp
uted Tomography.\n\nRequired Course Materials\n\nIn order to ensure yo
u have a great experience, we have pulled together material for the CT
A course to make sure you are adequately prepared to complete the requ
irements of this course.\n\n* Members-in-Training fee is 50% off membe
