 and enroll for a combined course in Abdominal Ultrasound + OB three da
 y. The focus of this six day course is to provide participants with th
 e “need to know” information to efficiently and effectively comple
 te a general abdominal and basic OB ultrasound procedure. The first th
 ree days of the course is the presentation of the basic ultrasound tec
 hniques involved in completing an abdominal ultrasound series and gene
 ral handling of the ultrasound device. The course comprises an introdu
 ction to normal ultrasound anatomy of the abdominal organs, followed b
 y lecture presentations of the common pathologic changes encountered i
 n a diagnostic procedure. The OB course includes evaluation of the non
 -gravid pelvis, fetal measurements and the ultrasound appearance of fe
 tal anomalies. Lecture is followed each day by a faculty supervised ha
 nds on ultrasound scan lab. The Interactive scan lab with live models 
 and small groups allow each participant ample opportunity to gain the 
 knowledge and skill needed to independently perform a basic abdominal 
 ultrasound procedure.\nObjectivesAt the completion of this course, the
  learner will be able to:• Demonstrate a basic understanding of ultr
 asound physics• Utilize the principles of instrumentation to set up 
 ultrasound equipment for scanning• Recognize and identify the organ 
 systems of the abdomen on the ultrasound image• Differentiate betwee
 n normal and abnormal variants on an ultrasound image• Perform a bas
 ic ultrasound procedure of the abdomen • Recognize normal and abnorm
 al pelvic anatomy• Identify the difference in techniques related to 
 transabdominal and transvaginal pelvic scanning techniques• Apply ap
 propriate measurement techniques in transabdominal and endovaginal sca
 nning\nTarget Audience Physicians, sonographers, and other medical pro
 fessionals who are the entry level of ultrasound scanning and interpre
 tation. Physician groups may include but are not limited to; family pr
 actice, internal medicine, and emergency medicine.\nCME Credit “The

 uncil for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical e
