SUMMARY:Cardiac and Peripheral Vascular MR
DESCRIPTION:Cardiac and Peripheral Vascular MR\n\nCourse Overview\n\nT
his two-and-a-half-day course is designed to optimize clinical practic
e skills by providing intense training in interpreting cardiac MR exam
inations under the supervision of expert faculty.\n\nParticipants will
use a FujiPACS workstation and have access to over 50 cardiac MR and
vascular MR Angiography cases for review. Post-processing techniques a
nd interpretation will be emphasized. The course also covers technical
considerations for obtaining optimal examinations for interpretation.
 \n\nSchedule & Registration\nMember Fee*: $4,000.00\nJune 10-12, 2011
 (Fri – Sun)\n\nCourse Director\n\nRicardo C. Cury, M.D.\nMedical Dir
ector, Cardiac MRI and CT\nBaptist Cardiac & Vascular Institute\nAssoc
iate Medical Director, Emergency Radiology\nBaptist Hospital, Miami, F
la.\n\nProgram Objectives\nAt the conclusion of this conference, parti
cipants will be able to:\n\n1. Identify normal cardiovascular anatomy
and normal anatomic variants.\n\n2. Determine the spectrum of ischemic
and non-ischemic cardiomyopathies, including function, rest and stres
s perfusion and viability.\n\n3. Evaluate of pericardial constriction,
cardiac masses, valvular disease, pulmonary veins and cardiac shunts.
\n\n4. Identify new techniques such as assessment of area at risk and
myocardial edema with T2W imaging.\n\n5. Interpret Vascular MRA includ
ing: Aorta, renal, carotid, visceral and peripheral vessels\n\n6. Reco
gnize imaging manifestations of cardiovascular disease, and the comple
mentary role of MRI to echocardiography, CT and cardiac catheterizatio
n in therapeutic decision-making.\n\n7. Apply the technical basis of c
ardiovascular MRI, including hardware requirements, sequence selection
and optimization, and technical limitations.\n\n8. Apply post-process
ing techniques for functional, flow and angiographic evaluation.\n\n9.
Review ongoing technical and clinical developments in the field of Ca
rdiovascular MRI\n\nAttendees who interpret a minimum of 50 cardiovasc
ular MR scans will be awarded a Certificate of Proficiency stating the
y meet the case requirement as specified in the ACR Practice Guideline
for Performance and Interpretation of Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imag
ing (MRI).\n\n* Members-in-Training fee is 50% off member rate. Attend
ees who register 3 months in advance will receive a $250 discount (Mem
ber-In-Training: $125 discount). Late registrations received within tw
o weeks of the course will be charged an additional $500 (Member-In-Tr
aining: additional $250).\n\nFor more information visit https://commun
