SUMMARY:Cardiac and Peripheral Vascular MR
DESCRIPTION:Cardiac and Peripheral Vascular MR\n\nSchedule & Registrat
 ion\nMember Fee*: $4,000.00\nMar. 4-6, 2011 (Fri – Sun)\n\nCourse Ov
erview\n\nThis two-and-a-half-day course is designed to optimize clini
cal practice skills by providing intense training in interpreting card
iac MR examinations under the supervision of expert faculty.\n\nPartic
ipants will use a FujiPACS workstation and have access to over 50 card
iac MR and vascular MR Angiography cases for review. Post-processing t
echniques and interpretation will be emphasized. The course also cover
s technical considerations for obtaining optimal examinations for inte
rpretation. . Preparation material for this course can be found here.
 (registration required)\n\nCourse Director\n\nRicardo C. Cury, M.D.\nM
edical Director, Cardiac MRI and CT\nBaptist Cardiac & Vascular Instit
ute\nAssociate Medical Director, Emergency Radiology\nBaptist Hospital
, Miami, Fla.\n\nProgram Objectives\nAt the conclusion of this confere
nce, participants will be able to:\n\n1. Identify normal cardiovascula
r anatomy and normal anatomic variants.\n\n2. Determine the spectrum o
f ischemic and non-ischemic cardiomyopathies, including function, rest
and stress perfusion and viability.\n\n3. Evaluate of pericardial con
striction, cardiac masses, valvular disease, pulmonary veins and cardi
ac shunts.\n\n4. Identify new techniques such as assessment of area at
risk and myocardial edema with T2W imaging.\n\n5. Interpret Vascular
MRA including: Aorta, renal, carotid, visceral and peripheral vessels\
n\n6. Recognize imaging manifestations of cardiovascular disease, and
the complementary role of MRI to echocardiography, CT and cardiac cath
eterization in therapeutic decision-making.\n\n7. Apply the technical
basis of cardiovascular MRI, including hardware requirements, sequence
selection and optimization, and technical limitations.\n\n8. Apply po
st-processing techniques for functional, flow and angiographic evaluat
ion.\n\n9. Review ongoing technical and clinical developments in the f
ield of Cardiovascular MRI\n\nAttendees who interpret a minimum of 50
cardiovascular MR scans will be awarded a Certificate of Proficiency s
tating they meet the case requirement as specified in the ACR Practice
Guideline for Performance and Interpretation of Cardiac Magnetic Reso
nance Imaging (MRI).\n\n* Members-in-Training fee is 50% off member ra
te. Attendees who register 3 months in advance will receive a $250 dis
count (Member-In-Training: $125 discount). Late registrations received
within two weeks of the course will be charged an additional $500 (Me
mber-In-Training: additional $250).\n\nFor more information visit http
