 9b3131d03c5c9.aspx\nThe FDA approved an innovative three-dimensional d
 igital mammography system in February 2011 that shows measurable impro
 vement in clinical performance over conventional two-dimensional mammo
 graphy. This new technology, called breast Tomosynthesis, is expected 
 to detect more cancers while resulting in fewer unnecessary diagnostic
  imaging studies and procedures. The FDA mandated that radiologists wi
 shing to use the technology receive eight hours of case-based training
  in Tomosynthesis interpretation.   Participants will have the oppor
 tunity to sit at clinical workstations and review over 100 clinical 
 Tomosynthesis data sets with accompanying standard mammography while
  being guided by expert faculty, Drs. Elizabeth Rafferty and Phoebe Fr
 eer, in Tomosynthesis interpretation. The course will not only fulfil
 l the FDA training requirement, but will also provide a unique opportu
 nity to assess the potential impact Tomosynthesis could have for a phy
 sician’s practice while receiving individual instruction. \nNOTE: T
