DESCRIPTION:Breast Imaging in the Big Apple - Held at The New York Aca
 demy of Medicine\nDecember 6 - 9\n\n\nCOURSE DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\nThis 
 course provides a balanced overview of more traditional breast imaging
 , blended with the newest state-of-the-art breast imaging techniques a
 nd modalities. Special attention will be given to Breast MRI, Full Fie
 ld Digital Mammography, and Breast Ultrasound, as well as newly evolvi
 ng technologies such as MRI Spectroscopy, Molecular Breast Imaging, To
 mosynthesis, and Whole Breast Ultrasound.\n\n\n\nINSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTI
 VES:\n\n\n\nAt the conclusion of this course, the participant should b
 e able to:\n\n\nReview the basic principles of screening mammography f
 or detecting early breast cancer.\nOutline the current applications of
  breast Ultrasound in diagnostic, screening, and interventional settin
 gs for earlier detection and accurate diagnosis of breast cancer.\nDes
 cribe the major aspects of breast MR, including imaging techniques, im
 age interpretation, biopsy techniques, and current indications, as an 
 evolving new weapon in the war on breast cancer.\nDiscuss the current 
 medical and legal concerns regarding the missed breast cancer, in an e
 ffort to improve early detection of breast cancer.\nDelineate current 
 and future applications of Full Field Digital Mammography and CAD as a
 dditional new tools for early detection of breast cancer.\nUnderstand 
 the importance of IDEBI in the incorporation of Full Field Digital Mam
 mography into clinical practice.\nAppreciate the role of MR Spectrosco
 py, Molecular Breast Imaging, Digital Breast Tomosynthesis, and Whole 
 Breast Ultrasound in improving early detection of breast cancer in the
  future.\n\n\n\nTARGET AUDIENCE:\n\nThis course is intended for all ra
 diologists with a special interest in Breast Imaging. The faculty is c
 omprised of nationally recognized expert teachers of Breast Imaging wi
 th a broad breadth of experience and knowledge in this field.\n\n\n\nA
 CCREDITATION:\n\nThe International Institute for Continuing Medical Ed
 ucation, Inc. is accredited by the Accreditaiton council for Continuin
 g Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education fo
 r physicians.\n\n\n\nDESIGNATION:\n\nThe International Institute for C
 ontinuing Medical Education, Inc., designates this educational activit
 y for a maximum of 18.0 AMA PRA Category 1 credits TM. This includes 5
 .25 hours of Breast MRI, 4.5 hours of Full-Field Digital Mammography, 
 and 3.0 hours of Breast Ultrasound. Physicians should only claim credi
