 e exam to the most visible procedure in imaging. In no other imaging m
 odality can the consequences for non-compliance of quality standards r
 esult in serious legal consequences for the facility and the mammograp
 her. It’s enough to keep you up at night: MQSA and the changing heal
 thcare environment have “raised the bar” on quality issues and mam
 mography programs are setting the example for the inevitable accredita
 tion all other imaging modalities. New responsibilities call for new s
 trategies in problem solving, quality assurance and documentation. Qua
 lity management terminology, trends and measurement will become the fu
 ture “tool box” of the mammographer. The use of clinical data and 
 patient demographics to measure the performance of the mammography pra
